Work area: Business policy, timber market, purchase and sale of forest property.

 

Work Experience:

Arne Rørå is the CEO of the NORSKOG Group and is also working on consultancy assignments. He has extensive experience in public relations, mapping and analysis of natural resources, support to  the purchase and sale of forest property, timber trade nationally and internationally. He has extensive experience in the forestry sector in the Baltic States having assisted several landowners in buying and selling forest properties there. Further, Rørå has worked on establishing timber turnover systems and developing a forest owner organization in Uganda, as well as an agricultural land owner’s organization in Kyrgyzstan.

 

A selection of positions:

Chairman of the Board NORTØMMER Ltd. (1998 -).

NORTØMMER has sales of 1.9 million, m3 of timber per year. The timber is bought from Norwegian forest owners and sold to wood industry in Norway and internationally.

Chairman of the Board of Foran Real Estate, (2006-2018)

Rørå was responsible for building one of the largest private forest owner and management companies in the Baltic states with 55,000 ha of forestland.

Board member NORTEAK AS (2007-).

Rørå was instrumental in establishing NORTEAK Ltd. a company that owns, develops and manages teak plantations in Nicaragua

Education:

Master’s Degree in Forestry at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, NMBU (1982-1987). Solstrand management program, (1992).
