About NORSKOG

NORSKOG is a membership organization for forest owners, founded in 1950. Today, the organization has approximately 230 members from across Norway, representing a total area of more than 1,1 million hectares.

NORSKOG currently hosts Norway’s strongest professional community in operational forestry. We have an administration of around 20 employees working in consulting services and business policy. NORSKOG’s consulting department provides a broad range of consulting services and undertakes both national and international assignments. Our business policy department is a key lobbyist in Norway, working to promote policies that supports an active and sustainable forestry sector.

  • Assistance with purchase and sale, succession, expropriation, and conservation of forest and property

In addition, the consulting department works with outfield management, environmental certification, mapping services, and research and development projects.

NORSKOG’s subsidiary NORTØMMER has dealt in timber trading and silviculture since being establishment as a separate company in 1998. Through NORTØMMER, a key timber trader in the Norwegian market and one of the main exporters of timber from Norway, NORSKOG has strong insights into the timber markets both nationally and internationally. NORTØMMER has a particular focus on the Nordics and the Baltics. NORTØMMER buys, harvest, transport and 41 sells more than 2.2 million m3 annually to Norwegian and international buyers.
